Membership:
Membership is open to anyone who has achieved a suitable standard on a band instrument commensurate with the level required for the band’s repertoire.
No individual shall be excluded from joining the Band or holding any office on the grounds of sex, race, colour, age, religion, disability, sexual orientation or political affiliation.
The band currently has some 30 regular members playing: Piccolo, Flute, Oboe, Bb Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Bassoon, Alto Sax, Tenor Sax, Baritone Sax, Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Bass Trombone, Euphonium and Drums.
There’s a warm welcome awaiting new players in all sections - and would love to add Eb Clarinets, Alto Clarinets and Timpani.
BCB does not hold auditions.
Rehearsals:
The Band presently rehearses on Monday evenings at: Hawkhurst Baptist Church, Western Road, TN18 4BT
We meet at 7:30 pm and, with a mid-session break, finish around 9:45 pm.
We have a professional Bandmaster - John Cornford - for both rehearsals and gigs
